We saw very few cars going in either direction - that should have given us some clues as to how far we were off the beaten track. The resorts in this area are quiet with the winter season having finished and the summer not yet in full swing.

Susa Italy was a very cute little town nestled in a valley halfway between Briancon and Turin. We did not spend much time there but since it was the destination of our carpool, we decided to check it out before continuing to Turin. We went to a local restaurant and ate some pizza, and wandered the streets a little bit before heading to the train station.

... lifts and gondolas here to get up the mountain and the runs are super long but quite easy to get down which is nice because that significantly decreases my chances of becoming a snow ball with skis. There are also cafés along the runs so you can stop half way down for a coffee or lunch. That is a novelty I think I could get used to!!!
