... I especially liked the one of the roof and dome of part of the living quarters, with snowcapped mountains in the distance behind. On the top floor there was a small out-of-use chapel with some medieval frescoes, but it was closed off to visitors. The door was of glass through so I could still see some of them.

I bought a postcard and a fridge magnet from the shop and then wandered around happily with Kate and Andrew some more. We looked for the history museum ...

... 14 for 2 days including helmet and boots. We also hired a ski instructor for 30 for 2 days 4 hours per day. A car was essential as we stayed 8km away from Borovets, so we hired a van for 140.

We arrived to Sofia 12 in the afternoon, picked up a car and spend 3 hours in Sofia. It was interesting as there was a strong spirit of Soviet Union, the buildings, the souvenirs. There are many nice churches and cathedrals and they are a close walk from ...

... common issue here?! Shopping done, we set our sights on a monastery that we think is the most famous one and head to the hills. The drive was quite incredible winding through mountains between tiny villages as the temperature dropped and the rain set in. What seamed like Hundreds of people were lined along the highway selling jams and honey's - kinda wishes we had some Bulgarian to purchase - before we dropped down to ski valley. Pretty crazy ...

The room was a bit cool re the a/c overnight so up at 0600. Time passed until brekkie. Suggested to Red somebody probably pushed Daniela without asking the group to move the final group meal to tonight. I've done 45 to 50 group trips and every one of them has has a final group meal on the final night of the trip. I'm happy to miss it, the chemistry just not there in any event.

I think the switch has nothing to do with the Explore flight people leaving early. ...
