    The hotel was a Route Inn which we have found to be a very good value for the money. Laundry on the other hand was a challenge as the loundry machine only speaks Japanese and no one English,. But we got everything washed and tried

    Funny evening in the hotel restaurant, The waitress was really giving us a top service and the food was really good.

    ... hits, the tent comes down. For my part, I've done some modifications to my outside space that make me feel much more secure. It's been a bit of a running joke, actually. The location of my container right now is in a relatively high traffic area, and for a few weeks it felt like every time someone walked by I was out there fiddling with my tarps or up on my roof.     We have just arrived in a tiny village high in the mountains. We are in a gorgeous setting, staying at a Minshuku run by a Japanese couple who speak no English. Fortunately we are sharing the house with an Australian family and Jane, the wife, speaks Japanese. We shared a half hour taxi ride with Jane, her husband Bill, and their 17 year old son Patrick. Super friendly, nice, well traveled folks ( 10 trips to Japan alone). A misty hard rain has greeted us here and we are expecting ...
