... that was the sound of people clapping to hear the echoes. The entire site was very Disney-esque, especially compared to all the other ruins we've seen this trip. It was very hot -- well over 30 degrees -- and noisy and you can't climb any of the ruins.

For all these reasons, in all honesty, I found Chichen Itza to be a bit of a letdown. It didn't quite match the impressiveness of Teotihuacan, the majesty of Palenque or the serenity of Yaxchilan. But that's okay. It's ...

... condo and instantly we were in heaven. It actually reminded me so much of Bali in so many ways. It was far more built up and touristy than Tulum, and the beach was no where near as pristine (but still beautiful) but we were checking into a penthouse in Mexico so we clearly we didn't mind. Travelling around Mexico is so easy i am finding that the the Ado government buses are so cheap and efficient, you can get different classes and amenities but the max you'll pay is $120pesos for a bus ride of over an hour.
