... tho I have left many things to chance on this pilgrimage - something that is very unlike me - I still feel very much in control. It's strange.. Maybe it's not control. Maybe I feel powerful again. The last couple of years have been so heavy with the death of my beloved grandmother, the death of an uncle, the death of a sister I never got to know and then of course the death of my little furry friend, my companion for 15 years.. Their English, thankfully, is pretty good. We hear again that the teaching style is not very flexible and teachers do not have much control over how they teach. These teachers seem to want to ...

Before I came back to Australia, I took a detour and visited Naruto. It is needless to say that I wanted to see whirlpools in the Naruto Strait. I took an overnight bus arriving at Tokukshima at six and then took a train and bus to Naruto Park, where you can see whirlpools. It was raining in the morning. I arrived at the park at half past eight and it was too early to see whirlpools, so I walked to the Tea Garden Observatory and then to the Otsuka Museum of ...
