Having only seen Kalkan from a distance in the bus previously and thinking it looked good, I was keen to spend a couple of days there. We had one night in a near-by anchorage, and one night in the Kalkan harbour - another anchoring stress point! The town has largely been rebuilt further away from the old town after much was damaged in an earth quake. The old town has been largely restored and is very touristy, ...

After a chill night and yet another beautiful meal we enjoy yet more sleep... It's holidays after all! Finally late at night Tom, Amy and gorgeous Asher arrived and get settled. Dave, Dawn and Rory went on 2½ hour walk across the headland and down to a small harbour - Içmeler. The views made the effort worthwhile and most of it was in shady forest.

A boat taxi brought them back to Turunç. It was a very rocky path and quite steep in places so Joan chickened out after a promising start and some spectacular views. We used the boat taxi service to go across to Marmaris for an afternoon. ...

... choice for our last evening meal. We had enjoyed other dishes but the speciality dishes requiring "slow cooking" definitely needed to be sampled. We pre – ordered a lamb dish cooked in a clay pot and Serife’s personal favourite, a chicken bake. These were supplemented by meze, a chicken cooked in an iron pan and a mince pancake.

    We were ...
