Day 3 - Fujisan Sengen Shrine and Mt. Fuji

A travel blog entry by camisado

... JR Minobu Line to Fujinomiya It was then quite a walk to the shrine, but it was beautiful when we got there. The grounds were bigger than we expected, and there were sections where you could drink spring water or take a bottle home with you after a donation (we didn't want to do it in case it wasn't appropriate for foreigners), and there were a few little shrines to some animal kami. We ate some 7-Eleven lunch in the shade of some cherry blossom trees, and we took in ...

Mount Fuji

... especially as you have to be in line by 5pm to get on
before the park shuts. We did manage all the big coasters though
which were worth the wait; amazing, scary and surprising at times. It
all looked very cool lit up when it got dark too, yet at 6pm sharp,

... a really pleasant atmosphere.

It was the almost perfect antidote to a very difficult couple of days, and a great way to rewind with some really cool people and a fruity beer. Now that I think about it, you can reverse those two adjectives.

The ACTUAL perfect antidote came a little while after, when I stumbled in to my bed. Tired, but happy and contented with my accomplishment, I closed my eyes and fell into a deep and dreamless sleep.

Daidogei World Cup (Street Performance Festival)

A travel blog entry by misocutlet

... Anastasini Brothers. At that time, I had never heard of them.... Regrettably, I couldn't get a guide to the World Cup beforehand, because it was sold only in Shizuoka prefecture. It was possible to ask the committee to send a copy home, but it was too late for its deadline when I noticed it. Overall, I was not so satisfied with that travel, but as a first-timer, I have to accept the result and hope to return there.
