      Day 126, Cali, Colombia

A travel blog entry by jsedwin on Nov 13, 2014

Today I pretty much was just a vegetable at my hostel. I got some food but that was about it until nighttime. There is a new guy at the hostel who plays some jazz and funk and we had a few really good jams so that was really cool. Around 6pm, I headed to the University Valle campus to meet Valeria. When I arrived, she took me to a place where I could make a business transaction and then we smoked and ...

      Day 119: Cali, Colombia

A travel blog entry by jsedwin on Nov 06, 2014

Yesterday, I woke up surprisingly late considering I sleepy to sleep so early. I got about 11 hours of sleep! The first order of business was to go find this hostel Jan and I had heard about that is less than half the price of the one we were at. Apparently, it's a fake hostel that isn't really registered and therefore doesn't pay taxes so it's much cheaper. When we arrived, we were greeted by a cheerful middle aged man named Jairo who seems like he has done way too ...

We made a lovely friend called Leon at a cafe, who we quizzed about the menu even though he'd only been working there for four days, and went on to visit ...

... pretty quickly as the main town was fairly dull and so was the old town! We did find a nice place for lunch though and as the sun was out in full force we went back to the hostel for an afternoon by the pool! As per the previous day I swam a bit, had some beers and we planned a fun BBQ for that evening before heading out to a Salsa club on the outskirts of town. The BBQ turned out great (apart from the dead and dry plantains) and we had beef, chorizo sausages and some strange ...

... floor and trying to grope girls bums, yes English boys, you know who i'm referring to! We appeared to be the only non-locals and were lucky enough to be sat next to a two really nice couples who were getting us up on the dance floor and showing us some new moves. Plus one of the girls told me I was the most beautiful girl in Colombia..... so obviously I liked her lol! Following night we went to more of bar than a salsa club ...
