... entrance into one restaurant because he was wearing smart shorts! Ridiculous!

To make the most of our time in Cali we went on a free walking tour. The tour was good, showing us parks, viewpoints, a random museum called Caliwood, yes you guessed it a museum of film memorabilia and an even more random but actually very cool gato (cat) park. Apparently lots of cats used to hang out by the river and a local artist used to paint pictures of the ...

... music. There's an awesome old tree (one of the coolest I've ever seen; didn't have my phone with me but I'll return for photos because I want to see the spot I messed up my feet) in the park so we climbed it and smoked and shot the **** for an hour or so. Everything was made better when we stumbled across a restaurant that had set lunch for 8000 COP (2.60) and we knew we were on to a winner when a delicious salad came out, which was followed by soup, beans, spaghetti, chicken, steak, chicharrones (fried pork bits and crackling), ...

It was a cold 20 hour bus ride from Quito to Cali. As if the air con being on full blast all night wasn't enough, at some point once we entered Colombia, the back window of the bus fell off. The air vent above my seat also got stuck, so not only was I cold, breathing in the bus fumes, but I also got wet. After a few hours, we stopped for a small break where the bus staff created a quick fix with some tape, plastic bags ...
