We check out the Venice rain radar site this morning. Prediction of rain in the afternoon, evening so we decide to take advantage of the 24 hour Vaporetto tickets we purchased yesterday morning and take a ride around the Island in the daylight following last night's route so hopefully we will be able to see the sights. A short walk to the nearest water station and off we go. Michael is happy taking photos along the way. Venice is quite ...

... side was spectacular. There were vineyards everywhere. There was no fields, no animals, no grass to be seen. Every last inch of space was taken up with vines. It was beautiful. Our accommodation was a camping village outside of Venice. He we slept in cabins with our own ensuite. Was very basic but comfortable. There was a restaurant, bar, pool and grocery shop on site. All we would need for the ...

And it is time to make our way back to Fenton.

Got a quick stop in Paris then the long flight back to DTW.

But it was not without its fun parts starting with trying to go to sleep at 9pm the night before the flight because we needed to be at the airport at 5am (the selfies are the Venice streets at 4:10am). A bus ride off the island to the airport and a very bumpy ride over the Alps, one that Kort had to sleep through not to throw up from.

... I got under. It was crystal clear and the beach was of coarse golden sand. The lounges and umbrellas were parked fairly close together, but this didn't worry us. There were classy hotels fronting the beach, with restaurants. However we were near a mini market, so got drinks and nibbles at normal prices. I called my sister Glen, and Edie rang her niece , hoping to speak with her sister Edna. Edna had broken her upper arm just before we left and ...

      Murano and Lido

A travel blog entry by amberannec on Aug 02, 2013

Today we woke up early to do some island hopping. Lido first to swim in the ocean! We bought a 12 hour water taxi pass and hit the waves. Lido is super cute and has a great beach to go and spend the day in and our of the water to cool down. Unfortunately every amenity cost money. Washroom, change room, shower, umbrella. That's ok. We just wanted to have a quick dip. ...
