... Giorgio Maggiore Basilica sits opposite from St Marks Square. The Basilica was amazing inside. There was incredible detail in the carvings, together with the paintings that encapsulated the inside of the building. Probably one of the best churches that we had seen on our trip so far. From there our boat motored its way to the island of Murano. Here we were welcomed at the Ferro & Lazzarini glassworks building. We saw the "master glass makers" at work. The ...

The next day we travelled from Cinque Terre to Pisa. We only stayed at ...

Another early morning jog to Canareggio seeking to find the Jewish Ghetto, not from WW2 but from 1516. Adolf got the idea from somewhere! Too many twists and turns in Venice streets so my efforts were in vain. Too hard to run and carry a map! Set off towards St Marks again to commence the day with some souvenir purchasing. That accomplished it was time for a latte before Gallerie dell'Accademia. The gallery is famous for ...

The past two days in Venice have been the best!! The city is absolutely amazing and I'm sure of it that there is no other place like it in the world.

I spent my first evening roaming around the dark alleys and quiet canals. I ate a slice of cheap but yummy pizza and grabbed a coffee and dessert. Took a water taxi from the train station to San Marco and walked for hours. It was so ...
