... with their bells clanging as they grazed, there were apfel (apple) and pears trees and vineyards covered with plump and juicy deep plum coloured berries. Driving through the very narrow streets of Maienfeld town, high up in the coach, allowed us to see over high walls and be amazed at the dreamy and spectacular views. With the sun setting on the grape vines, this tiny magical town beckoned us to return. Running late, as we have done all day due to the same passengers ...

... All these churches are so beautifully ornate with gold and other expensive pieces of art.

We stopped at about our usual time for a beer (al fresco), and I picked up a great little friend. It was a sweet little female dog that couldn't wait for a belly rub from me. A Grumpy Old Man....and some great scenery

A travel blog entry by rolandandlinda on Aug 24, 2014

Hutte was large and busy, especially with mountainbikers, and provided
excellent food and accommodation. Lots of people on the walking route too, but
nicely so.

May spend another night here, perhaps more. It is the
best campsite yet, and we need more like this. Spectacular views across the
tarn. All serious mountain tourists – and none of those nasty "ski ...

The Klostertal Valley

A travel blog entry by rolandandlinda on Aug 23, 2014

Left Walch’s site feeling very pleased with the place.
Not cheap but everything was of highest quality and would definitely stay
again, summer or winter. From the power bill (10kW-hrs for two overnight stays,
excluding heating which was on LPG) , we must conclude that our fridge appears
to consume best part of 4KW-hrs per ...
