We ended up only seeing about a 1/3 of the castle, but it was enough as we had run out of chocolate…carrot on the stick I'm afraid… and then decided to head back home.

Apparently, I can't read a boat time table…yet. What we thought was the time that we needed to catch the boat back to Bouveret, was actually an hour later… Hmmm…what to do.

In all it appeared have over 20 carriages on board.......... Needed them too as this is a popular line in tourist season. As we head out of Bern, the Swiss alps are clearly visible in the distance, over the farming countryside. We were hoping for a fine day as they said there was little use in doing this trip up to a cloudy day... All ...

... travelling, but the tour around the country's capital was a welcome surprise! After a 2 hour train journey and a 3 hour wait in the airport, I was finally flying home! The trip has been really interesting and I am glad to have learned lots about the country's culture, language and people. A good start to my year abroad, I feel ready to keep exploring!

Thank you all for reading so far! Pop back in a couple of weeks for more! ;)
