We started the morning with a leisurely breakfast at Chez Andrea et Holger, followed by some therapeutic ironing! At 10am we ventured forth to Brünnen Westside to inspect the shopping possibilities before taking the train to Bern main station. On recommendation we enjoyed a light lunch at the Sky Terrace on top of the Schweizerhof Hotel close by the station, and enjoyed a very ...

We then walked down to the river and walked for a good half an hour around the outside of the city, marveling at the colour and cleanliness of the water. It was pretty deep in some places and extremely fast moving, but so clear that you could see the bottom at all points. With the Alps all around ...

The European mountain biking championships also happened to be going on in the city. Later the first night we went and watch some of the contests. At night to wrap of the first night of the championships, Pegasus played a rock concert in front of the parliament building.

The second day we wanted to experience the Alps, so we ...

... I wandered around the area looking for opportunities for pictures. I was too lazy to go back to the Hotel and get the Tripod, so just tried to brace the Camera against fixed objects. It’s really a nuisance having to use live view all the time, and I’ll be glad to get the Camera repaired and back to normal.

My stay in Bern was very short, but I enjoyed having a look at the city and hope to return some day when the weather is better.
