We spent only 5 days in Switzerland (it ain't cheap!), and I loved it there. The country itself had overall a genuinely warm, kind vibe.
We stayed in the French-speaking region of the country, in a city called Lausanne, which is on the opposite side of the Lake from Geneva, and has apparently been called "the San Francisco of Switzerland."

... After the obligatory Clair's and cream and double espresso, we said goodbye to Claude and headed to Vevey, a lovely coastal town with a strong artistic heritage. The walk along the promenade and back through the town took 90 minutes and was a pure joy.
