After brekkie it was onto Menton which is a lovely little town just before the Italian border. Menton is a much more down to earth place than its neighbours and more our scene. We found a park right on the beach and went for a wander and took in sum much needed sun. Next stop Italia!!<br>
Menton, Provence, France darrenhough74Up early as it was a spectacular sunrise - full of pinks and organges. We wanted to hit McWifi before we entered Italy but we did not find one until later in the day in Menton. Before that we drove the coast road through Nice and Monte Carlo, both concrete ...

Our destination for the evening was Grasse where we found a good park overlooking the city lights and our first view of the Med.
Grasse, Provence, France darrenhough74... Sailboats were docked at the marina (knez, it made me think of you). Diane ordered mussles and Jon and I had our first mussels ever. They were delicious. Thank you Diane for helping me discover my love for sea food. St-Tropez was further than we thought, but thank god we ...
Cannes, Provence, France sofenjonWe were so excited to have another person travelling with us, that our time spent with Diane was mostly fighting over her for her attention and trying to get her to side with one of us. They have provided us with the reminder that spending time together is what is most ...

Monaco-Ville, Monaco jv3117After eating a good breakfast on the terrace of our hotel, we drove into Monaco to see the Prince's Palace and the changing of the guard (which only happens once per day at 11:55am). The drive to Monaco was gorgeous! Mountains on one side, the Med on the other! We found a public parking structure, then headed up to Monacoville to see the little storybook town and palace. The gardens on the walk up to the town were ...
Monte Carlo, Monaco fitmomThe first thing I noticed about Monaco is that they didn't seem to have as many street people as the rest of the places that I have been to in France. Probably because I also noticed that there were police and guards everywhere. A very pleasant place to visit. I watched a film on the history of Monaco to try and figure out what exactly it means that it is a principality, but really I am not that much more aware.
