Lots of high rise buildings and the place Christopher Columbus was born. Still in Italy we drive along the motorway of Flowers.     ... It was just a cute little place about 3 or 4 k's out of the main historic centre. I absolutely loved it though. It felt real, quaint and local. As soon as I got into the little bedroom and went and opened the old wooden shutters, squeezed out on the tiny balcony and looked out at the winding lane up the hill and did a little jump thinking yes! I'm so happy to be here.

    Weather: cloudy and overcast all day but no rain. High of 23 degrees Had a bit of a lie in this morning before getting up and having some eggs on toast for breakfast and preparing to head to Monaco for the day and then into Nice later on.     Breakfast at the Sainte Valerie is served in the courtyard, which has a natural canopy from large magnolia trees and other vines. The tables are arrayed throughout the courtyard, and they have a large buffet with several stations throughout, including fresh bread and pastries, fruit, yogurt and cheese.
