Wonderful opportunity to head into the mountains where Melanie spent time as a kid with her Dad Marc.
Snow country in the winter but great grazing in the summer, a great place to be away from the hustle of people. It was a privilege to be taken up to Marc's Chalet. The reception we received was amazing, The homegrown food smells wafting from the kitchen's woodfired range had the taste buds going. First we admired the views down the valley, one could ...

Melanie (Heidi) & Vincent are in the region for a holiday and we are lucky enough to be invited to their family cabin high in the hills of the Savoie region. Melanies father is cooking lunch for us and this is to be a treat for all, his oun produce grown on the farm including the fillet of beef and cheese made from the milk from his cows. Rod is beside himself with enthusiasm and none of us can believe that he and Marc have in depth conversations, one speaking English and ...

The view was amazing and words alone will struggle to provide an adequate description. The vistas made me ...

WOW,WOW,WOW is all I can say to describe this mornings ride, we rode up hills and cruised back down with mighty mountains to our left and right. We were cycling through the mountains although there was still a few descent climbs for us. I got the biggest thrill and it really felt like an achievement to conquer some of these. Way up in the mountains you would think you would feel isolated - not in France there are small villages ...

We arrived in St-Jean-Pied-DePort and got our bags all shipped off. It was a beautiful thing to get rid of 65 pounds but there is no insurance or signature confirmation on shipping out here. Our electronics and about $3000 worth of gear is on a chance and hoping our karma keeps up with us. We made it to the pilgrim office and acquired our passports for the trail and overwhelmed ourselves with information and dread to what may lay ahead of ...
