Kuru hospitality is just so absolutely lovely. Sid and Muneera treated me to a wonderful Sunday and Rais charmed me from the moment he crawled out of his cot. Scrambled eggs (they are getting better every time I visit, Sid!) and croissants combined for a very relaxed breakfast and Rais provided the entertainment with a repertoire of hoovering, CBeebies dancing and lion impressions.

    We then loaded ...

Starting this new blog is a strange feeling. I have just opened up the folder on our travel laptop titled 'blog entries' and, being Saturday 11th, I looked back to see what we were doing on the last Saturday 11th. ... indoors in an environmentally controlled climate. In many cases, you were able to get ridiculously close to the animals, including a few walk-ins which we shared with playful spider monkeys and gibbons.

Alas, when the snowfall grows too thick and the streets too busy with Christmas shopping, a retreat to one of Bern’s numerous museums seems almost inevitable. And with Bern’s most famous resident being none other than Albert Einstein himself, we thought it fitting ...

    Ducks for Breakfast

Woke up this morning to the sound of the waves on the lake. Beautiful sunshine and we ate our breakfast surrounded by cheeky ducks who were wandering all round our stuff and even trying to get in the tent. Late last night a couple arrived who have spend the last year and 2 months cycling the world on a very similar route to ours - couldn't believe it. They have two days left in their journey until ...
