    ... P.

Got to Bern in the afternoon and headed on our way to the hostel, the thing that struck me the most at first was how old the city centre looked! And so coherent too! Not a modern building in sight. Was wonderful walking past these olive green houses with the very ingeniously designed undercover arcades…one of the longest in Europe apparently! They also had these cool doors that opened to an entire floor underneath‼ ...

Kuru hospitality is just so absolutely lovely. Sid and Muneera treated me to a wonderful Sunday and Rais charmed me from the moment he crawled out of his cot. Starting this new blog is a strange feeling. I have just opened up the folder on our travel laptop titled 'blog entries' and, being Saturday 11th, I looked back to see what we were doing on the last Saturday 11th. It was June 2011 and we had just spent the day splashing our way across New Zealand’s North Island in heavy rain to reach a heavenly spot called Mount Manganui. The title was ‘California Dreamin’ as in a few days we ...

    Sledging on the Neiderhorn

... pretty easy right? WRONG! It's not easy at all! Especially when you are sliding down a steep mountain which is almost 2000 meters high!

The sledging track isn't just one straight path down like ours, its complete with bumps, sharp turns, wide paths, narrow paths, trees and sometimes cliffs on one side. Everyone in Switzerland has been sledging since they were small children, and will continue to sledge even as adults. Because of this, the track has many people ...
