... We got off at the Arc De Triomphe and after staring at it for a long time, climbed the stairs. The view was amazing, I couldn't describe it in words, but you can see the pictures. On the way down, clumsy me tripped down the stairs and hurt my leg. We took the elevator down and found the Metro station. I rested for a little at the hotel and then we had dinner nearby and came ...

... replenished by a hot shower, donned my shoes, asked advice from the receptionist and ventured forth. Confidently without consulting the map I turned in precisely the opposite directiong to the directions given. ... and I guess you get stuck!

The day was a great day with the temperature predicted to be 61 degrees and I think it was pretty close. We did not need our jackets when walking around Versailles, which was a welcome change from the cold weather at home! Since the day was so nice, we decided we should do our evening boat tour. I had pre-booked tickets with Vedettes du Pont-Neuf. The tickets were good for a year from the date of booking and for ...

... really. I looked down over the edge. It seemed so high! We walked over to the elevator to the top level. This lead all the way up 324 metres high! This elevator was yellow. The ride was also rough though. When we got to the top I looked through a telescope. It was an amazing view. There was also a room where it had dummies of the creators of the Eiffel Tower. There even was a Champagne shop! Dinner at Cafe Constant Arrived just before dinner at ...

... view of it. The tower doesn't light up until 9:45 and sparkles on the hour starting at 10, so we had some time to get settled. There are concrete stairs and a platform with a great view, but there are lots of people sitting and walking past so it's not a great picnic spot. Just down from these stairs was another platform that had music playing and about 50 couples were tango dancing - not a dance I've seen very often, so that was fun to watch! ...
