Interesting village where Van Gogh lived the last 70 days of his life & where he is buried. He painted 80 paintings & 100+ drawings during this time! Once again we're having unusually nice weather. Last week it was cold & rainy. This afternoon we are sailing back to Paris... Some are touring Versailles & we will pick them up along the river somewhere. I'm enjoying my panoramic windows open and listening to the birds & ...

We are staying here for another day. We aren't sure yet where we will go after this. But there are several places that we are considering, including Orleans, Blois and Chinon. It was a watery sun this morning. Lunch with Sue and Tony in Les Rairies. It is so good to catch up with someone who has been a friend for over 40 years. But we did eventually get on the autoroute and headed off to Durtal. We know Durtal - it has narrow cobbled streets. So we knew that we should separate as soon as we ...

It also had magnificent gardens which Max admired with envy! Apparently they have 13 full time gardeners plus apprencitices! Our day concluded with wine tasting where we learnt to distinguish the taste between grapes grown in sandy soil and that grown in more chalk based soil and wines ...

A delightful place

... parked along side another English couple called Mal and Graham. Poor Mal obviously was missing speaking in her native tongue because over the two days we were there, we learned all about them and I mean ALL. It was fun though and we did spend quite a bit of time with them although when they came into our van, we were not sure they would ever go but of course they did, eventually. We wandered up into the ...
