... in the area Le Manoir de La Boulaie, a 2 star establishment set in a lovely park like property with a large pond full of stately swans. The menu is simply incredible boasting small dishes imaginatively served, a feast for the eye and the palate and we have never been disappointed by Chef Laurent Saudeau' s creativity. In his own words he leads the customer on a voyage of discovery and what a trip it is!!!!!!

A sleep-in until 8.30 stated the day , with the usual home made jams ,croissants , joghurt ,etc in the lovely walled garden, followed a very pleasant pursuit of the owners black Labrador which escaped just as we were leaving , the ******* . A sense of conscience made us chase the bloody dog , which thoroughly enjoyed the chase over a main road as far as the beach , anyway Ali caught him and the final return was being dragged home by the owner. ... Muscadet harvest which resembles grape juice at this point. There was also a punch made with Muscadet and juice and some rum which can pack quite a punch so I tried to avoid the lethal potion even though Daniel insisted on pouring me a glass and refilling it often. he takes great pleasure in trying to get me inebriated but rarely succeeds. hangovers are just too awful to endure and I leave the overindulgence to my husband!!! ... he does not have a license and he does not need one, his car is not allowed on the main highways, but he can go on the secondary routes and can only go up to 60 km an hour.

... put them in the freezer for our use.
Yesterday we picked all the tomatoes that had split from all the rain, they went into a soup flavored with our basil and will be on the menu tonight along with a bowlful of fresh mussels cooked with wine some cream, shallots and salt and pepper. They come from Mt St Michel and are small but plump and delicious; I am getting hungry just writing about them.
