We were determined that our guests Deb and Andy would have a good slice of the wonders of our French life, a quiet respite away from their month long exploration of Paris, we have tranquility and cows and vineyards to offer and excellent food from the covered market in Nantes called Tallensac.

Saturday morning a bright shiny day we breakfasted on brioche and coffee and then drove the 20 minutes to the market around 11 am. Chock full of shoppers, and every vendor in place ...

... book of revelations 666 and all that . We are currently siting in a beautiful garden a waiting a wine tasting . Our B&B is on a winery with at least a couple of appellations and dinner is here too , more later . Somebody just shot our dinner by the sound of it . Ok he didn't shoot dinner , we have just finished a home cooked meal goats cheese on toast , green salad , pork casserole , rice and an orange salad with accompanying wines from the vineyard thrash all folks ...

... down the stairs, it's about 5:30 am and I was praying he would not invite them in, fortunately he told them to go away even though they were bringing us a pot of onion soup to eat. Apparently this is a tradition after parties and in particular weddings where they wake up the newly weds with a hearty onion soup!!!!!

This year was a bit tamer, I was home tucked in bed by 1 and D arrived 3 ish, although he was definitely a little fragile the next day.

... salad and ratatouille. The strawberries have come back to life with bursts if warmth and sun and they are perfumy, sweet and delicious. We even dried some of the pears in our dehydrator that we purchased last year, it turns pears, apples and apricots into tasty dried morsels like candy!!!!

... the way and ducked back inside the house. There were dogs baying and men shouting and guns going off in a flurry of activity and then nothing. My husband arrived crestfallen that he had neither seen a boar nor shot one. he is beginning to believe it is a figment of everyone's imagination!!!
Apparently there were 24, 3 mothers and a whole pack of babies, some of the dogs took off chasing them ...
