Have arrived at Bourg St Maurice, found a hotel with good wifi, and are catching up. Tomorrow its Petit St Bernard in to Italy, then Grand St Bernard into Switzerland, and then Bormio, Furhka and Stelvio passes.
Yesterday we took a field trip to the French Alps. It was by far the most beautiful thing I have ever seen and I had one of the best days of my life there! I never truly understood why everyone was so in awe over the mountains (all of them, not just the Alps) until I got to see the sunrise come up over the tips while climbing up the side of the mountain range. This second time down the green slope I didn't fall. Not even once! We even did a little bit of a blue hill to get back to the base area. At this point, I felt like I was holding Katy from doing the harder routes so since I had kinda figured out how to go forward and was a little more confident I decided to try an entire blue route.

... br> At the end of the afternoon, when we arrived back at the hotel I was totally exhausted, every movement costed me more energy than usual. apparently I have some problems with the thin air here at 2300 meter above Sea level.

At the Montdauphin station it was just another shuttle bus and a walk up the icy mountain to reach our destination. We were the lucky ones however. Others took 24-36 hours to reach our accommodation.
