      Puerto del Rosario

I decided a night in Puerto del Rosario might be good for a change of scene and I had an early flight in the morning. I probably should have listened more to what I'd been told, it's more industrial and not so enjoyable. Feliz Cumpleaņos a mi and its a warm 28 degree day! Nursing a sangria hangover we have a delicious cooked breakfast before jumping on the 9am bus from Playa Bastian to the inland Teguise markets - the oldest in Lanzarote. Here we find 100's of stalls selling everything from toe rings and cactus muffins to 'genuine' fake handbags. After half an hour we've seen most of it but have another 2.5 ...

... Today we're catching the brand spanking new Edinburgh trams to the airport! What an experience, they are so fast and flash and run almost door-to-door for us. Kev is convinced that the tram bells sounds like the McDonalds beeping timers, and talks about how hungry he is the whole way!

After a 4.5 hours, we have survived the Ryan Air flight and land in the volcanic island that is Lanzarote. It is far from pretty, but an incredible landscape to look over, almost lunar like. ...
