But thought a nearby winery might allow people to stay. Good enough for us, so we set off. A guy was near the gates waiting and let us in, we realised that the wine store guy has kindly called ahead. I cooked up a mince pasta dish that was pretty damm tasty as the guys entertained the ...

... resort around the world - think Wanaka, Queenstown, Banff - just with really bad roads and half finished buildings. Our new hotel was charming, with low doorways, tepid showers and water heaters that gurgle like a baby all throughout the night. Andie took us downtown, a distance of 500 metres, and showed us the main drag. A very pretty place with snow capped mountains and dozens of restaurants all vying for business. A few English-speaking touts were also ...

... br> On the way back to the hotel we managed to go past the local Kwikimart and picked up a 2.3 litre bottle of beer for $2, and a $4 bottle of white wine for the home cooked dinner tonight at the guest house. Gotta love these prices! Our host, Dehska, had laid on a traditional meal of Bulgarian sausages and a casserole of mixed veges and a ginormous loaf of fluffy white bread. Delish!

Then, out of the blue, appeared 2 pint sized Babushkas/grandmothers or ...
