... of our on the road travels, it's not very cultured I admit, but the girls eat everything we have to pay for there and it's cheap as pomme frites - so I can cope with a few visits over these weeks & months. A Long Train Ride through the Alps

... alone in a six-seat saloon, which was excellent for viewing the Alps through the large windows. The scenery was lush and green, up and down, granite and copse. I snapped a few photos around Colle Isarco, Italy but they do not do justice. We watched Germany gradually evolve into Italy. Everyone should take such a train trip, in the daytime.

We arrived in Bolzano about 8:30pm. It was still light and we found the hotel right away.
