A nice room, a grumpy reception, a good location. That's pretty much all you need to know. Worth what you're paying for.

... is some sort of Expo going on in Milan and there are about 1 million more visitors than usual for this time of year and we have been told that it will probably cost about 40 euros to park for the day. So armed with all this info we head into the traffic. Its only about 50 miles from Lecco to Milan, and most of the drive, once away from the lake area, is large roads. Before we know it we are joining the crazy Italian drivers as they make their way into the city. ...

... in the town square, on the sides of roads and under hotels. All very charming.
After a morning coffee, we headed back to the hotel for lunch and a siesta. Later that afternoon we went for a walk about the streets near our hotel, and then ate a good Italian meal at a local restaurant. Finished the day with a gelato sitting by the lake, watching the boats bobbing about in the marina. A truly lovely day.

Off to Milan tomorrow and then Verona. Liking Italy more and ...

... for people to live in, it's a place where people go about normal lives away from the famous monuments and the tourist traffic. In this way it's a perfect place for me to spend the majority of my time in Italy. Since we're going to be in the one place for an extended period of time, Tilly, Nathan and I set out this week with the intention of finding our "go to" local cafe. We are yet to finish trying the multitude of cafes that line the main street but I'm certain that next week ...

... persist. Staff were monitoring this. It was not until on our way out, we saw a sign that said a fee was required to take photos. From there we went to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Opened in 1867, it’s one of the world's oldest shopping malls and is a luxurious shopping experience like no other. The building is a marvel in itself, with glass ceilings and a steel structure that is decorated with mosaics representing ...

... case of being lost...we came across a restaurant that looked nice and decided to just stop there since the restaurant the person at the hotel recommended was nowhere in sight. We weren't really sure how our Italian meal would be since every person working in the restaurant was Asian and we and two other tables were the only people in the restaurant. We ordered pizza and it was okay. When we went to order ...
