A nice room, a grumpy reception, a good location. That's pretty much all you need to know. Worth what you're paying for.

I tried the traditional Milanese Risotto - made with butter and saffron. It tasted ok but was missing veggies and/or meat! Peter was adventurous and tried the Spaghetti Marinara, containing mussels, scampi, calamari, prawns etc! It looked ...

... of sitting and watching traffic on our roads at home, but in Venice you see the whole city in action in the water. This morning there was a huge Police cruiser that was the biggest vessel I have seen on the Grand Canal and looked like it might have belonged to the Chief of Police but they have many vessels of varying sizes. An ambulance with siren came racing up the Grand Canal and darted off into one of the smaller canals. There were workmen doing up one of the grand buildings and ...

From there we walked through the promenade dedicated to Victore Emmanuelle II. Beautiful, and expensive shops. Then past LaScala, the opera house and onto the castle of the Sforza family. I'm sure I haven't spelled anything right!! The castle is huge, has been built, ...
