    ... and that it had to be tall enough so that a person riding a horse could easily pass under it. I suppose that the areas between the walkways in those days were possibly open sewers. Anyway it makes getting around the city easy, and I have enjoyed their shelter during a couple of heavy thunderstorms.
    The other main attraction is two brick towers, built in the 1300's. The tallest one is 100mtr high and has another one of those 500 step internal staircases to climb up ...

    Today we had a lazy morning hanging out in the grounds of the BNB. We had a swim, the kids had a spa and Nick and I caught up on some reading. Oh and it was my birthday! I got coffee and toast in bed! And some gorgeous home made cards from the kids. After a slow start we took some rickety old bikes into town.     ... eat simply". I started to cook and over the next weeks I cooked almost every day. We spent two days halving apricots that had just been harvested for jam and juice. After that we bottled 100 jars of jam. I didn't get to see how the jam was made but it tasted great. The process of making the juice is similar.
