After our 2 day sail we pull into Portamao and decide to drop anchor rather than go into the marina as it was a lovely big bay by the beach and a lovely afternoon. Just what we needed after 2 long days at sea. The sunset was beautiful and a cosy night in board before getting up at 3 to head onto Sines on the west coast of ...

Beach not so calm today... Wind from Spain apparently.... Said with derision and blame !!!! Like it's their fault!!!! Still blue ...

As we headed south there were lots barren dry lands....bit like Australia actually. Almost expected the odd Kangaroo to appear. Very little grown it was so dry ... Then we went further and lots olive orchards, orange trees, and some animal farms. A very quick trip along the motorway .... Great roads and easy to get somewhere fast. Listening ...

... big empty car park opposite so once the bikes are off the road I leave Jonny to supervise them and hare into it, only to see the man from behind us has followed to help. It’s not a quick job so we thank him and let him on his way before fully fixing it. We are lucky that the rack is scratched but not broken, and eventually it is on and we get going again. Cautious doesn’t do justice to how I drive for the remaining few miles and I’m relieved when we pull ...
