... and rude manner. I guess to everyone else that's a really dumb question because they have grown up their whole life with it as a given rule. Of course two people can't accurately represent the population here, but I was sure hoping that not all Germans were going to be that way.
We continued on to the festival and as we were getting closer and closer, we saw more people dressed in costume, and heard yelling and chanting grow ...

... on the first day, and really easily found a table right next to the stage. And it wasn't even reserved. I think both Nikita and I knew deep down that we'd just found out last location for the rest of the day! This ended up being our favorite place to hang ...

... sample the local brew and then had a würst (sausage) for lunch. We sat next to a market and the place was packed, lots of benches laid out under chestnut trees sheltering people from the sun. After lunch we visited the very-touristy Hofbrauhaus - a famous brewery - which was a bit underwhelming (good to see but very slow service) so we walked around for a while and eventually ended up in the university district for a couple more drinks and dessert. The afternoon was ...

... a Sunday morning before catching an afternoon train to Freiburg in the Black Forest. In hindsight exploring a city for the only time in Germany on a Sunday wasn't such a good idea as everything is shut. However, it is nice to know that there are still cities that are completely shut on a weekend, forcing people to stop and enjoy the time and relax without the pressure and stress of the nonstop economy we seem to have created in Australia. It was also not such a good ...
