We saw one lady just as she was getting out of the water, dressed literally head to toe in a neoprene drysuit and with her face bright red from the very crisp water.     I arrived in Munich early evening and despite poor instructions on how to get to the hostel, I managed it without going wrong. This hostel had already won me over, as it had carpet in the corridors!

    After checking in amongst the noise of excitable kids (I assume on a school trip) I headed out to see Munich. The Christmas market here was the biggest yet, with it just being one main market rather than several small ones like in Berlin and Dresden.
