... in America. Wonder how they do it! If these were American kids out so late, they'd probably be super whiny and tired. I was super whiny and tired.
The drive through the scenic the Langhe was beautiful (albeit stressful for Bob, since he was driving). We passed castle after castle, small village after small village. If we get a chance to go back some day, I'd love to spend more time in these villages (and know more Italian!) ...

... There was a huge roar and banging from the bar next door. We headed next to the Luigi Ferraris' house for wine tasting. In the 1920s Luigi's grandmother used money she received after her husband died in the Nevada mines to buy a vineyard. The vineyard is currently owned by Luigi's son Luca who has built a new vineyard nearby. Luigi's house was previously the centre of winemaking and dates back to the 17th century. ...

From Susa we drove to the town of Asti. Yes, this is the town that is know for Asti Spumante, a wine way too sweet for us. But, what we didn't realize is that this region is known for some of the very best red wines in all of Italy.
