Another great breakfast- cereal, home made croissant and toast with meat and cheese. Plus boiled eggs and sweet stuff that I didn't eat. Good unsweetened yoghurt. Still raining.. Was going to head to Cinque Terre but it's raining there too so decided to stop on way at Genoa. Wasn't on my list but looks like it might be interesting and more to do in the wet. All the rivers swollen- heavy rain looks set in for couple days. Train to Milan ...

After the sites, sounds and smells of Tuscany, we drove north on Saturday, October 11th, leaving Tuscany behind and heading toward the Piedmont region. We cut west on the autostrada, almost all the way to the Cinque Terre but not quite, then north along the coast all the way to the town of Savona, where we turned inland and northward. All along the coast route there are tunnels - we counted them as we went and when we turned northward were on tunnel #99! ...

We left Lake Como thinking that we had seen the most beautiful of God's work, the deep blues, greens and the village residences modest or palatial in primary colors. ... I had a Nicosia salad and for dessert fresh lemon meringue pie. Still driving were in a section of all flat land. Yesterday one of the tourist saw a sign that said public toilet .50 euros and 1.65 euro for a douche well the Americans were laughing and the Canadians were just looking at us and couldn't figure out what they missed then the joke was on us because douche in French means shower.
