... We arrived at Ferrara at 1345 and we had two and a half hours to wander the town. Warren visited the museum in the castle which he enjoyed. From here we caught a bus to meet our boat at the small village of Zelo. I think everyone fell asleep during the 45 minute trip after a 40 km day in bright sunshine and temperatures approaching 30 degrees. ... photos from a platform at the top. The one next to it had to be shortened a fair bit soon after it was built, because it developed a serious lean to one side. It has more of an angle than the Tower of Pisa, but is still standing. In the 1400's it is estimated that Bologna was a medieval New York, with up to 180 brick skyscrapers, and there are still a couple of dozen left scattered around town.

... spot just before the rain came down! At Trattoria de Noemi we had the regional pasta special - pumpkin ravioli - Capellacci Di Zucca which was excellent! We toasted my birthday with a nice bottle of C******nay Frizzante! We had a fun ride home after that! Kids were excited to ride home in the dark with their tipsy parents. ... with wifi. I climbed up to San Luca on my next day off. The route is under 4km of porticos. The view is wonderful. and an experience. Serious joggers sprinted past me up the hill but it was good experience for September. On my last day off I took the bus to Montese, which was liberated by the Brazilians.
