... dog clothes and accessories. Pachinko - this is an obsession and when you go in a pachinko hall, the noise is insane! Anything you want can be got from a vending machine and they are everywhere. It was a truly wonderful day when we realised on drinks machines if the price was in red, it was hot and blue cold. So you can have iced coffee, or hot coffee. Genius! Everyone cycles using a sit up and beg bike with a front basket-useful and effective ...

... I am just more of an old person than I thought, but I thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the bus watching the autumn leaves and deep valleys and gorges and things that we saw as the road twisted and turned throughout the mountains. We arrived at our destination mid afternoon and spent our time relaxing in the spa before consuming another delicious Japanese western fusion 6 course ...

Kumano Kodo

Tuesday we took a train from Kobe through Osaka to Kiitanabe, then a taxi to our ryokan through the mountains. This area had the most beautiful mountain views. Our ryokan was fairly basic with no ensuite shower, but still has the onsen hot spring bath. The thing that made it worth it was that each room looked directly onto the beautiful mountain view. It was so relaxing with "nature" as the central focus. We noticed tons of enormous striped spiders ...
