... for what we got for $13. We spent the night chit chatting to the chef and ordering way more food than necessary. Yum yum yum! I may have been responsible for catching the 'right' bus, but should should have actually been on the train. So I wasn't 100% wrong, but it cost us an extra $8 and half an hour of my life on a bus. ... shower! It was funny - at one with nature! Jona and I took a short hike up a very steep hill, which offered gorgeous views. We met John and Kate for a Japanese breakfast (read: fish and vegetables) at 8:30, then we went on a hike to see a small shrine. We attempted to walk a good distance, but the hills were extremely steep so we didn't get too far.

... an umeboshi (pickled plum) factory and then went to Shirahama beach. The beach felt like Australia, probably because the sand is imported from there. We spent a few hours there and it was lovely weather. Unfortunately I got really sunburnt but it has gone down now. On Tuesday, it was rainy start to the day and we left at 7.30 in the morning. ... I am terribly glad I went through with the whole thing and glad I could do it for our host (and to top it off I will never see most of those folks again so who cares right?). Afterward one of the guests even gave me a hug and took a picture with all of us and it was warm fuzzies and teddy bears all around.

I lied about that being the other highlight though...I almost forgot about the snorkeling! I am not a great swimmer and ...
