... more of Latvia for another time, and this is turning into much more of a see-the-capitals-and-dash trip than I had originally intended. But that's okay; I wanted / needed to be with my family these past few days. And if all goes well, I should hopefully be able to get the second half of my trip in more or less as planned. Thank you to the Kegelmann Family for putting us up for the night, such a kind and friendly family that wanted to learn as much about us as they wanted to answer our questions. Both of their sons have already traveled to many countries and continents in their young lives (19 & 17) and Marsel even came over to stay with Brian for a year four years ago.

Frosty air that adds to the winter vibe as a brass quartet play traditional hymns and carols on the balcony of the town hall whilst I stroll around, Glühwein in hand, stocking up on Lebkuchen, the much-in-demand-from-friends-and-family gingerbread.
