I would highly recommend treking thee gorge and visiting the highlands of Greece. Something truly special and not what Greece is reknowned for, as of course everyone is infatuated with the islands - although they are good, spare some time for mainland Greece!

Metsovo is a remarkable town in Epirus 550 kms from Athens, only 37 minutes drive from Ioannina. It is like an Alpine village, reminding me very much of Switzerland.
