A day full of flights
Saturday 6th October
...Continued...
Anyway, I boarded my first flight, and just as quickly, we were landing at the first stop. The flight literally took less than 40mins from runway to runway. The first stop was Arica, at the top of the Chilean coast and it was a tiny airport in basically the middle of the desert, but on the coast.

Antofagasta
... in south California. Antofagasta is a large city (1 million people) fairly prosperous, main industry is copper mining. It was being put on by a local school in just a totally random place near the town center. at a random time. on a tuesday. The students had split up into groups and had traditional clothes, music, ...
The Mysterious Coast
After saying our goodbyes to San Pedro de Atacama, we've picked up another Ugly Monster to head south and east to the coast. There's just the small matter of crossing a chunk of Atacama to get there. The Ruta 5 Pan-American Highway is fairly well populated with vehicles covering the 250kms or so to Antofagasta, but not a lot else.
We do see some interesting sights en route but they're mostly ...
