We all slowly fell in love with Slovenia, camping in the pine trees, swimming in the lake and chilling amongst the mountains. The campsite was full of Dutch teenagers making the most of the activities on offer on the raging river running past the campsite. A great couple of nights enjoying the surroundings, even with some traditional Slovenian music thrown in as we ate dinner on the last ...

We woke from our kind of sleep to stunning views from the windows as the train neared Villach and the Austrian Alps. We had realised that we were close to the Rosental valley, so decided that we should have a quick explore before finding a campsite with the aim of finding some tacky Rosental souvenir. ... the cold, refreshing water. None of us lasted too long in the water, but we definitely felt relaxed and refreshed when we came out. The last activity on our list for today was to try some traditional Slovenian food. We went to a restaurant Tom recommended and although the traditional meal Ren got was very tasty, this restaurant didn't offer the best selection of traditional Slovene food. By the end of the day, we truly understood why Bled is described to be ...

... low pass road that takes us into the next valley and the lovely ride down to Mariazell.

From there we continue south and west through Judenburg and over several low passes to our next destination, Hochosterwitz Castle.

Our first site of the castle is stunning. The citadel stands high and proud atop a conical hill. There are 14 gates in ...
