      ... monkeys in city zoo very happy. The port itself is on the River Scheldte and is located about 50 kms inland, protected against many of the tidal problems facing those on the coast itself. However, they do have to contend with the occasional flood.

      ... Ate more fries, but this time washed em down with Belgian chocolate. Still wondering about Belgium's obesity rates.
      - Ran into someone on the street that I knew from my childhood and had yet another 'really small world' moment.

      ... all huge, square buildings of grey stone, often adorned with unexpected objects on the top (my favourite was one that can only be described as a giant golden onion). This spawned a running joke where Tom imagines pontificating at some posh dinner party “Oh, so you're interested in architecture? And you haven't been to Antwerp?! Good God, well, you simply must go!”

      Righty- ho, arrived in Brussels after a smooth sailing train trip, - pleasant enough! Gotto love the Eurostar, only way to travel.....
