... hundreds of civilians. It's a popular dive spot near Rovinj now.

We later walked through the narrow streets up and down the hill and soaked up the atmosphere. And we ended up near a Roman temple that was well -preserved.

Pula made a nice day visit and we're glad we did it that way. It's a larger city with a lot going on, but we are enjoying our quiet fishing village up the coast.

A bit cooler and rainy this morning. Our last full day in this lovely town. We checked out the fishing fleet again when it arrived - mainly sardines and a few octopus. The guys work so hard taking the fish from huge vats and putting them in boxes, filling the boxes with ice and loading them into trucks. Apparently the fish are all trucked off to Italy for sale as Croatia only has a population of 4.1 million and Italy has 67 ...

... I can only imagine what it’s like on the larger “mainstream” tours with 60-80 people.

After dinner it was a quiet 30 minute ride back to Motovun, where Peter took us right to the spot where the city bus usually drops passengers. We made the tiring hike up the hill and finally back to the hotel (where I got a coffee to take to my room).

Overall, it was a very interesting (albeit long and tiring) day.
