Hallo zusammen,

So ...
Ohrid, Macedonia schwate... the cobblestone roads to the fortress are great. The pace is slow and relaxing. There is a great path that winds in and out of the beaches on its way to a great old church. The old man giving us a tour is delighted that we are so interested and offers us Raiki (a local brandy).
After some rain, a beautiful rainbow appears.
... Macedonia is or what it is about but I have found a freindly bunch of people, as well as some beatiful scenery. The country is only small so you dont need to spend that much time here but it was definatley worth the trip and Orhid was a really cute little place that was nice to stroll around. The people have also been very nice as well and speak English and are welcoming. You also notice alot more natural blonde people around than you do in Romania and Bulgaria.
Ohrid, Macedonia richardcowley... to get through both sides. That done it was not far to our hotel in Ohrid, Macedonia. This is situated on the beautiful Lake Ohrid. It was the centre of Byzantine monastic life and was where the Cyrillic Alphabet was invented and developed. We had a couple of hours to walk around the old town and along the lake. It was so peaceful sitting having a drink looking out at the lake and watching people swimming and boats sailing by. A lovely end to an up and down day.
Ohrid, Macedonia mrsmac... IM Marija. However, Marija was not on the computer, I was. I wrote to him that I was not Marija that I was her friend. Then the conversation was intiated, we kept talking and talking.. asking questions about each other and how I met his family earlier-- his mom is Vesna- how we were going to meet each other in a few days... just this and that. Mostly we talked about how we both couldn't type right.. so he made the comment that he was hungry ...
Ohrid, Macedonia brandilinasue... carvings made of solid wood, representing the life of John the Baptist. Every detail was amazing! I could describe it all I want and would not even come close to doing it justice. Now, an alter here is different than I know. Here in the churches an alter is like a wall that separates you from the monarchs or priests. It usually tells the life story of the Saint the church is named after. I was blessed enough for one of the ...
Struga, Macedonia brandilinasue... was beautiful and took us from the north side of Lake Ohrid, where Ohrid town is, down to the south side to see the Sveti Naum Monastery. 1.5 hours, 200 dinars. The monastery is cute but not as amazing as Lonely Planet made it sound. It was also packed with tourists, in retrospect right after 2 ferry boats arrive is probably not the best time to visit. We had some delicious lunch ...
