Much to our surprise, there was a beautiful little church nestled just above the water, which we later realized was called Church of Sveti Jovan at Kaneo. We spent a while just sitting at this church, taking it all in. Thanks for the tip, nice old man!

Another treasure was a silver display which purportedly included a bit of a wrist bone of St John the Baptist. Decided to go to the main tourist town in Macedonia - Ohrid, on lake Ohrid - Macedonias Queestown. About a 3 hour bus ride although it took us 4 as we got diverted due to a bridge that was broken on the direct route. Nice ride though and some good scenery as we passed throgh the mountains and the Mavrovo National Park. Snow on the peaks of the mountains so very pretty.

... there seems to be a lot of local people as well.

We walked from the bus station here to our hotel - Louise said it was about 5 minutes. With all my baggage, it felt a bit longer - my shoulders were beginning to hurt. I should have taken the bags off while we waited for our room keys but didn't know how long it would take, so I kept them on. I survived. There haven't been any elevators so I think I have gained some conditioning as ...
