... We took the metro exiting at the stop closest to a famous bookstore we wanted to visit; Shakespeare and Company. Although in a new location, this was the name of the bookstore frequented by the famous writers in Paris. The store was tiny, crowded, enjoyed by many lounging in the inside (including a white cat who loved all the attention). The bookshop used to offer a lending library in the old days. Having thanked Geoff for an indulgent few days at his rural home in St Andre de Cruzieres we drove our hire car back to the Avignon TGV station. ... had dinner at a lovely little restaurant on the way home at the very Parisian time of 9.30! It had a view of the tower so we ended the day as we started. Thoughts of Paris as we are about to leave - lots of smokers everywhere most unpleasant - a lot of people are rude and arrogant - French very innovative with electric cars and bikes around the city. ... I were on the tour so we had our own private guide. We started the tour from Rue Lepic near the Moulin Rouge (nothing special in the day time). It was great to see Dalida's House and her bronze statue where visitors rub her boobs for luck. We didn't bother doing doing this however.
