Bus, boat and a Chocolate oasis

We woke up early and it was already hot. Hannah and I did some maths and French vocabulary. Then we went to explore the supermarket (Franprix) around the corner - supermarket shopping in another country is much more fun than at home, because almost everything is new and unfamiliar. We got some lovely strawberries, nectarines and bananas, tomatoes and baby cos lettuce, some packaged pasta salads for lunch, Brie, yoghurt and cereal, but bypassed the large frozen ...

... nice American Airlines man asked us what we were looking for. He told us we had to go down in the lift and turn right (when we had to actually turn left!). Anyway we found it (there were actually no signs to the BA checkin) but there was nobody in there other than a terribly unhelpful sales person and a very helpful checkin person. Well we finally ...

... free. It was absolutely gorgeous. We saw so many famous pieces of art and the Mona Lisa! In total, we were in there for about two hours and I took many photos. I was able to do it without being sick. By the time we were done, I was a little bit hungry so we took the metro back to the hostel and found an Americanized restaurant there where I was able to eat some pizza. For not having a successful morning, we had a successful afternoon.

For the first day in Paris we got caught out with the time difference with UK, which is one hour behind. So it was a bit of a rush to get out for our bike tour of the centre of Paris. Nevertheless we got to our meeting place in time, collected our bikes and started off. Marlene decided that it would be too taxing so she decided not to join us.

we biked through the well known places and stopped off for lunch at a stall for ...
