... I took a room at the Ibis for half a day, at a reduced price. That allowed me to rest in a bed for a few hours, shower and change, and also use the wi-fi system to answer some mail and get some other work done. I have a few more hours to wait until the start of my 12-hour flight to the Indian Ocean.

The weather in Paris is pleasantly cool, and overcast. Light rain falls from time to time. It’s a typical July day in northern France.
Roissy, Île-de-France, France joelmeekerA relaxing morning. Everybody slept really well ... just not quite enough. This apartment is a comfortable and quite place, close to everything. We LOVE it! I take a quick trip to the boulangerrie for some morning treats while the family relaxes at the house. By the time we get the house organized, pack our picnic backpack, get dressed, etc ... its about 11am. Out the door we go skipping along like a bunch of nerds. But we are happy. : ) The metro/bus/train stations ...
Paris, France styrsky... the only person with sweat pouring down my face like an autumn shower against a window - yeah..poetic, but so not a good look. Truely uncomfortable! On the upside at least I wil have beautiful skin and may come back slimmer looking - yeah right...baguette to go sil vous plait! That brings me to another point. I have literally seen 3 fat people over here. I've seen slim people, I've seen old and skinny riding bikes...but not many fat people! They have ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France adamhills... every time I tried to call it didn't work and I really think she wouldn't appreciate me not getting in contact with her at all. On the walk back we decided (I was forced) to look for a store. The old ones couldn't find it again so we didn't go to the store. That sucked because I NEED LAUNDRY DETERGENT! Eventually, we made it back. TV was watched, and it is now 1130. Hopefully I will go to sleep before 2... Something I learned today: Don't take rings from strangers.
Paris, France mferrand... around us. We went to Trocadero ( fountain was off) and took a couple of pictures. After that we went to see the tower, but it was still closed. We were very sleepy, so we took a nap at one bench under the tower. When it was about 8:30 we woke up and stand in a line, we were first.. Hmm, there is one option how to pass cheaper for the entrance: firstly, you should for the group of 20 people, collect the money, and then send the youngest person in group ( under 18 ...
Paris, France jelenamaric... back to the hotel from there was not so far, and went back to rest before meeting a colleague of RT's (and mine, from Dallas days) for a drink in the evening. The Ritz Hotel, as I said before, was only a couple of blocks from the Sheraton. RT had emailed Raoul Dessaigne that he was going to be in Paris, with a friend, and would love to meet for a drink if RD had time. It worked out that he would be coming back to Paris from a business trip (he ...
Paris, France vbailey2... decided to at least make the whole thing more presentable if you can call it that. So now as a "facade" for the piles of bones there are bones & skulls set in a decorative manner in crosses and rows and such so that magically makes everything not creepy now. right. (I really do have the details, but theyre at Pat & Georges right now, oops!) Speaking of dead people, I ...
Paris, France ashygag... Although Glenn did get a bit trigger happy when the lightning lit up the place in the background! We caught the metro back to our hotel, exhausted, but very happy. What a memorable night in Paris! And the next day we slept in! We had a flight out at 9.40pm, so we had some more time to enjoy the city. But first - we had to call home to share our news! It was great to have our parents as elated and as happy as we were on the other side of the world! We did a bit of souvenir ...
Paris, France glenn_christie... time. I heard somewhere that colds and body pain are 90% a mental game, so I am going to test that one and stay positive. It's easy for me to get down when pitied, so if you feel bad for me, don't let me know. I feel bad enough for myself that it will make me sadder to hear it from you. When I am in Greece, I am going to try to pamper myself with some hot water in a Roman Bath. I heard that Thessaloniki in the North is a good place to find them, although I'm sure they ...
