We woke to the sound of pigeons cooing, surrounded by medieval luxury. We had our first traditional full French breakfast, french stick, ham, cheese followed by pastries, washed down with a bucket of coffee or chocolate.

It was a very misty morning. The grass play area had a low cloud hovering over the turf between the chalets and the camping cars.
A drive along the Loire. With the river high up its banks the road was safe because it was on the levee. We drove through Amboise to Blois, stopping at Chaumont-sur Loire. Then across country through Chateaudun to Thiron.
