Then we went to a winery, where the husband and wife prune, pick the grapes, crush them, bottle it, etc. they were super nice, the husband didn't speak English, but the wife did, she was adorable. Just now, the captain announced Champagne happy hour in the lounge, so we're headed there. More later! ...

... about no train going back to Paris. Poor Barbara, we're always making her ask questions, and, sadly, we discovered that the next train to Paris was 411a the next morning. Aaaaaargh! Quel horror! Blah blah blah, I'll spare you the gory details, a train worker guy found the 6 of us a 'taxi grande' to take us the ~110 km back to Paris, a bargain price @ 256€! Sheesh, the perils of site seeing in a foreign ...

... Chateau; meanwhile someone in our group pointed out a sweet white kitty on the balcony of a house nearby, so I was engrossed in looking at that. Barbara rejoined the boys, and to my horror, the Frenchy who gave her directions approached MOI, re-explaining how to get to the castle. He has made it his life's work to study and interpret the stained glass windows and some of the statuary of the Cathedral, so he's basically "the" guy when it comes to the Cathedral's art. In 1985, when Ms. Moore bravely led some of us girls to Europe, she was absolutely beside herself that the tour company didn't organize a tour to Chartres so that we could ...

... within 20 kilometers as well.
The food was very delicious as well, we had grilled chicken and afterward I had the chance to try many French pastries. I liked the strawberry éclaire the most out of the group. After returning home I was even given French macarons by our neighbors who have a daughter that will also be attending the same school as me. It was a very good day filled with a lot of great French food and conversation.
