    ... to start celebrating Jim birthday a bit earlier and headed up the dune for a beach BBQ and to watch the sunset.
    Today has been a pack up and travel day and we are now sitting down after a nice shower on our campsite in Tours. The washing is in the machine, we are having a beer and just about to start dinner - steak baguettes with onions, mushrooms and salad with chips from the campsite bar. 2 nights here and next stop Paris :-)

    ... been naughty taking their photo but they were enjoying life so much I couldn't resist. Its been a lovely day and at the moment Kerry is chief chef and has made rissoles without flour, as we have none and has just had to make do with whats in the cupboard. He has done a fine job. I have to tell you about French supermarkets. I start to salivate as I enter as there is so much choice and its all so delicious. So many cheeses, meats, salamis, ...

    ... smothered in Basque-style tomatoes, onions and peppers. Despite the fish and chicken we chose, we absolutely had to have a Bordeaux wine. We took our server's recommendation and weren't disappointed. What was probably and average half-bottle of red wine here turned out to be one of the best I've every had although to be fair I rarely touch reds...but still. We saved the bottle.

    ... some discussion, and advice that it was only a 15-minute walk, we set off with our baggage and bikes and the airport luggage carts to walk. That was certainly an adventure as we struggled through a couple of ditches and negotiated a couple of roundabouts which were not intended for pedestrians.

    Thought I should take advantage of the free wifi that actually works at this wonderful bar in Biarritz! Wonderful because it's got 20 great beers on tap.. To update from the last entry, a huge thunderstorm in the night meant I had to race out in me shreddies at 6.35am to wind in the awning before I set sail for a second time across the lake in the van. Of course I should have remembered a freshwater lake = mozzies!! Yep they came in a pincer movement and ...
