We visit the excellent Musee de Terra Rossa, a modern museum with an encyclopedic coverage of the local industry-'archeologie, ateliers d'autrefois, carreaux decores, et la creation contemporaine'. Our visit begins with reproductions of old furnaces, kilns, presses and molds and examples of the various versions of the tomettes that were fired over years, continues with displays of decorated tiles from the Middle Ages throuogh ...

Strolling through the town centre with its trams, Net and I also thought that it reminded us a little of Melbourne with the trams running through the centre of the mall. Holiday of course thought we were both ridiculous. We arrived into Nice just after 12.30pm, the drive taking just over three hours. Once again the boys did an excellent job in ...

... kind enough to drop Amy and I off at the Monte Carlo casino for an obligatory flutter. Given that I had been wearing shoes and trousers for the last 4 hours in 30 degree heat (so as to meet the casino dress code), we weren’t going to skip it! The casino was truly beautiful. An expansive room encompassed vintage poker and blackjack tables, laden with flush green velvet. Multiple roulette tables showcased the wonder of modern engineering, while the ...
