ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.
Monaco, Monaco tilman... have an amazing view from Colline du Chateau. On saturday (November 28) we had sunshine and 19 degrees (end of November) and I was even swimming in the sea (15 gegrees), on sunday, November 29 we had rain and thunderstorms so that caused a delay of the plane of three hours. Best breakfast in town you find in "Les pains a tables" close to the market. Nice is a city IŽd love to visit once a year minimum.....
Nice, Provence, France tilmanIt is Sunday and very wet and miserable here in Antibes. Quite a change from the glorious day we had yesterday. Ideal for computer work in fact... (Except that then things didn't pan out as planned and it is now Monday)
It wasn't my intention to have an entry before my departure but the response to my initial circular has been so overwhelming that I feel it merited an ...
... if we want to via a plug in the side of Scooby. We've only hooked up to mains twice and found that we can charge all our gadgets from the leisure battery without running out of power. Laptop, Camera, phone, iPod, eBook and GPs. The fridge goes 3 ways off Mains when plugged in, off battery when the car is running and off gas when stationary. Mad Mary We have a GPS with EU maps installed. She was christened Mad Mary by the previous owner due to her sometimes ...
Les Arcs sur Argens, Provence, France darrenhough74... of Prince Albert - no joke), then walked along the harbour. The harbour had a full fairground atmosphere with rides, games, food, lights etc. We had the most delicious kebab for dinner from a stall :-) So posh!
We then followed the curve of the harbour to gape at the boats moored there. The amount of money people obviously have is just obscene!
Next we thought maybe we would have a go at trying to win ...
... while she tries things on. Dani even splashed out on some gor-ge-ous black boots, on sale mais oui, they are so pretty, she wants to name them! As she decided to be smart and send them home rather than ruining them, she gave them a quick kiss goodbye and can't wait to return to her new European wardrobe. She's totally building a little winter collection for 2010 and beyond! Very excited to go somewhere, have someone compliment her and say 'oh thanks, but I got it in France!'.

... back on the bikes and started our way back to the campsite. We made a quick stop at a grocery store to pick up a few things on the way. This store didn’t look like much from the outside, but once inside we were astounded at the size of it. Imagine if you will a big Walmart with grocery store combined with one of the new Canadian Tire stores all in one massive store and that would just about do it. It was gigantic. From here we decided to make a ...
Cannes, Provence, France kochwebb... and taken to our hotel in London (AIFS is the program I'm studying with). We stayed at the Holiday Inn Kensington for two nights. Half the group was going to Cannes, while the other was going to St. Petersburg. It's still not clear to me as to why anyone would spend a semester there. The few St. Petersburg children I talked to came off as phony intellectuals(?). Anyways, I have to be honest and say that London is probably one of my least favorite European cities I ...
Cannes, Provence, France ross26greenI'm back in Cannes for a few hours. This time I'm much more successful in finding a FREE restroom and I stroll the back streets looking for a bite to eat. Cannes is quite small so just walking to the third street back from the water is pretty much the back streets. Here you can find some things that cost less than 10 euro for a hot dog. I decided on trying something ...
Cannes, France oracle26... a full glass of red wine and smashing the glass after it slipped out of his hand all over his nice shirt and of course he was wearing cream pants! I felt really bad for him, but he was so calm. I helped the guys clean up the glass around him as the staff werent very helpful. You could tell that he was a little embarressed but he laughed it off which was good. The next few days we really just spent exploring. The film festival had only just finished and ...
