... from races in the states- aid stations had hot bullion to drink, and shots of fruit liquor " to make you warm". At the end, I have never seen so many people smoking at the finish line and while waiting for racers to finish as I saw in Davos. Actually, I don't think I have seen anyone smoking after a race ...

I started looking for hotel signs. Followed a few signs but didn't find anything. I was driving through a valley with lush hills on both sides and streams flowing along the road. Just after Spinedi-Ca' San Giorgio I saw a hotel and restaurant on the side of the road, with parking. Perfect!


Friendly staff that spoke enough English, good price. Wifi and a good restaurant. What a day!

... bikers going both directions. I followed some for a while but most were driving faster than I wanted to, so most of the time I'd just follow for 15-20 minutes, then ease off a little.


The road got narrower as I got nearer to the Stelvio Pass and as I started the ascent it got colder. I had expected this and dressed warm.
It was an incredible scenery. Small winding roads, small streams ...
