... and took the time for a walk around while there. Arriving at Mont Saint Michel is interesting. For some reason, I thought there was a village on the shore opposite the island. There isn't what is there is a giant car park, some hotels, an information centre and shuttle buses to take people to the island which is about 3kms away. We can see it from the car park and it is an incredible sight. Google some images to get the idea: it's a huge ...

I'm writing this from Mont St Michel on Saturday. Our final riding day was yesterday and the weather gods really turned it on; it was a lovely day. Even a tail breeze at one point. We had a picnic ...

Mont ...

We intially had big plans to head out early today and drive a considerable distance to visit another village. However, thankfully we stopped ourselves just in time before falling into the normal holiday trap of trying to fit in way too much in a short time and missing what is on your doorstep. So instead we took a deep breath and decided to explore closer to home and not miss out on the simple treasures nearby. And we are so gad we ...

Traci and Nathan fulfilled one of their dreams today by finally visiting Mont St Michel, a medieval monastery with an imposing Abbey built atop a small island in the bay where the regions of Normandy and Brittany merge. It was built in the 8th century by Bishop Aubert who lived in a town nearby and built the monastery after he was visited by the Archangel Michael who told him to visit it. This location has been a place ...
