... say that we bailed, however apart from the joy of hiking, we didn't miss any specific scenery as the hike was in the same valley as the previous day's ride. We tried to use that thought to comfort ourselves anyway. Luckily, there is still more hiking to do on this trip.

... and rode around a huge lake for 32k! Neither of us would consider ourselves "bikers" so this was an amazing feat. It was a beautiful ride with views of the mountains and lots of farmland. When you look at a map, southern Germany and central Switzerland look CLOSE. Seriously, look at a map. ... best option would be to try and hitch a ride from Grindelwald to Interlaken, and then from Interlaken to Kandersteg.
