    The Alps Proper

... had passed a big club group of cyclists all in the same kit. After we went through a beautiful little town with a cobbled thoroughfare (riding in the center water channel is easier if no one is coming the other way) we stopped for a few moments to check our directions. The club group came by but we soon restarted and caught up to them. They were also headed for the Mortirolo, as we found out when they turned off. As we were advised later at the Bormio Ski and Bike ...

... trains at Bern on the way but that was easy, off one train on platform 6, walk about 10 steps and board the next train which left 5 minutes later so all good.

We arrived in Interlarkin about 7pm and walked a short way to our hotel. This place is so beautiful, it is a shame we won't be here that long. I have a few pics of the town but when we arrived it was quite overcast but the town has so much character ...

... our rooms for tonight and then it’s onwards to Grindlewald for a train ride up the spectacular pass to the "Top of Europe".

The weather had now brightened up slightly and the rain had stopped but somehow we did not expect to see much from the peaks above and sure enough we were right!!

As we both have discount passes for this railway we go off and firstly buy our half price tickets and then head onto the platform and await our train. Onto the train and ...
