Woke early as usual and ready to explore my mountain town for the day ...sitting waiting. It's cloudy today but not too bad, the sun is fighting to shine through the clouds. Catching the Bernina Express train up to the mountain top to a place called Tirano. ...OMG ...I didn't go that far as that's war and over the mountain. And in italy ...yeah. Cool to go to italy for the day ...but found way better places to go ...stopped on ...

... a number of ski lifts. After seeing nobody walking up the mountain, I was surprised to see lots of people at the top. Then I spotted parked cars. I had a bit of a rant about the people we passed along the lines of "I bet they haven’t just climbed up 1200 metres to get to the top!" I felt very aggrieved. ... to Torbole. What I didn’t check was the change in height between the two lakes. When we started going down some very steep hills, we decided to have a look at the map. Lago di Ledro is at about 668 metres above sea level whilst Riva del Garda is at 66 metres. We cycled as far as Ponala with a view of Lake Garda and before the path snaked its way steeply down to the lakeside, we decided we would head back. The weather has been
cloudy and rainy again and we ...

... it was something I'll never, ever forget! Thanx Mumsie! All that standing outside shops waiting, was worth it!
I had about 7 minutes to race around the amazing museum before the coach took us back to Riva Del Garda. I was pretty ****** off that we only got an hour there - I was quite happy to miss the museum to get my drive in - but it would have been nice to able to spend a few hours in this famous place! Pretty obviously Trafalgar don't cater for rev head ex-farmers!

    North to Bolzano

Today's tour was to Bolzano, close to the Austrian border. We arrived there late in the morning, stopping for a quick espresso at a truck stop - it's hard to get used to doing things the Italian Way when you have to pay for what you want first, then go and join the queue to get served! So simply getting a coffee takes quite a while, especially when the Italians are prone to barging in front of anyone!
    Bolzano is nestled in ...
