We stayed with denises family, she kicked her brother out for a night, so we could sleep in his room, that was so very nice. her mom made pumpkin-gnocchi for dinner, hmm self-made italian cooking is very good. A day of cold and hot
... has a number of churches. Of course these all have their own bells which ring every 15minutes or so bringing music to the town. At one point all four or so church bells must have been sounding and it was as though they were all trying to oust ring each other by playing the best tune. Was it the X-factor of bells perhaps??;-)
It is now 8pm and the weather outside is still quite mild. I'm hoping to reach the Dolomites tomorrow but only tomorrow will tell how far ...
No marmite, just rain
... for a bite to eat and before starting on our 'real' trek up to Nago-Torbole which is slightly set back from the edge of the lake.

Hiking ahead of the marathon
Italy's seasons are consistent with the UK, however of course the climate here is much warmer than the UK and minus the rainfall. The forecast for the weekend is cloudy with showers, but as walkers we have come well prepared.

Otzi the Iceman
... The ice has done a good job of preserving items that are more than 5 millenia old. Plenty of research has been done on him - his last meal is known, cause of death is from a heavily bleeding shoulder wound that lead to hypovolaemic shock and he was already plagued with health problems including arthritis and arteriosclerosis. But who attacked him, why, and what was he doing way up in the mountain? Hmmm.
