... face masks--in Japan, politeness and civic responsibility require that you wear a mask if you have a cold. You are also not supposed to blow your nose in public, although it's ok to sniffle. I wonder if there is an underclass of allergy sufferers who suffer from discrimination, or at least chronic nasal problems from fluid pressure. On the train back to my hotel from Karatsu, there was a student with either allergies or a cold, and ...
Saga, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan rbfromnjWe arrived in Nagasaki at 0800 today (our Monday—your Sunday). We plan to visit ground zero where the A Bomb was dropped and go to the museum. After that we'll just play it by ear and look around.
Kobe was great. I tasted my first Kobe beef steak. The claim that it is "fork tender" is absolutely no ...
... before heading into Nagasaki's very own chinatown where we managed to catch a nightly dragon dance and grabbed some, ok chinese food (of course i'd just been in china so it never really had a chance). After this, we continued our regular tradition of going and finding a sake bar, and managed to hit the jackpot as we walked into the middle of a group of locals having their own fancy dress/hat party! A variety of wigs were donned, photos were taken and ...
Nagasaki, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan ditzyali... so I popped in. No English menu just a couple of pictures so I thought why not. I pointed at this soupy noodle dish and hoped for the best. It came and and was bloody amazing. The place was called Green Pepper so it had some spice to it, it came with rice on the side, the bowl of soupy goodness containing some form of meat, veggies and stuff. Amazing… the only problem is I could probably not order it again as I have no idea what it was called!

Nagasaki
Went to Nagasaki for a day trip while
in Fukuoka. As a result of all the late nights, I did get to Nagasaki
late and did a quick rush of the sights. I have now done my A-bomb
check list of Japan. Nagasaki is a pretty place. Will need o return
and spend more time here one day in the future.

nagasaki, Japan ratu... coming back home haha. Ali left us on Monday morning and so since then it has been just me and dearest Semra. Tried to go see Fuji-san but was bank holiday so there were no buses going there and the day was quite drab anyways so couldnt catch even a glimpse. Today was our last whole day in Japan and finishing the trip could have not been more amazing... we went to see sumo wrestling! It was great experience, very different sport from anything I have ever ...
Sasebo, Kyushu-Okinawa, Japan jennisalmela... sweetened thedeal. As we arrived the desk clerks knew exactly who we were, and we were greeted by a very warm welcome, and the girls were even given a choice of toys from a basket of gifts. Charlotte unsurprisingly chose jewellery, and Angela for some reason chose a snake. No idea why. So we made our way up to the room, and we knew it was going to be good, but we were completely blown away by how amazing this room is. Our room at the Toyoko Inn would fit entirely ...
