      ... impressive.

Then today was our last day in Faistenau and it was a good day. It mostly stopped snowing and we had something exciting to do! The four hills tournament was on today in Bischofshofen so we drove there. Its very refreshing walking in the ...

The last stop of the day was to drive the narrowest road in all of Austria up to Eagle's Nest on one of the special buses that journeys up to the top of the mountain. Over 3,000 men worked day and night, winter and summer, for 13 months to complete the road project. The road was blasted out of the mountainside, and featured a series ...

... for just that – a place for Hitler to entertain visitors and dignitaries. As a matter of fact, he actually visited it only 14 times before he and Eva Braun committed suicide in 1945 in one of the bunkers built under the Reichstag the seat of government in Berlin. Additionally, he had a smaller teahouse further down the mountain that he used daily as a respite from his work.
