Day 10: Florence

On our way there, we walked through a little alleyway where school children were being let out for the day and families were there picking them up (no one was in a car; everyone walked or rode bikes). It was a very cute, Italian, everyday scene, and we enjoyed watching it unfold. Steps, steps and more steps
... ferry back to Riomaggiore. At 24 euros each, the day ferry pass was good value and we made full use of it. A drink at the sunset bar on the way past made a perfect end to a perfect day. Tuesday began with rain , just what this area doesn't need! At the information centre, we were told that ALL walks were closed, so bought a 6 hour train pass and got on and off at all the stops to Monterosso. They are lovely little villages and we spent the morning wandering ...

So we wandered around for awhile and made our way back to the room until the secret bakery opened and we went with Kelly and her friends and Krissy and hers. I got another Croissant with chocolate and was happy very happy. Yum!
But I'm off to bed so I can get up to say bye to Krissy, Lauren and Lisa. I'm sure gonna miss those girls. I'm not ready to say good bye yet. =[ ...
More Vivoli and Zaza!
... in a guide book but had no idea where it was located. We stumbled across it. We got to the top where the porcelain museum is housed. Outside is a pretty garden. We took plenty of pictures of the Neptune fountain, Amphitheatre and back of the Pitti Palace. There are two grottos that’s very scary and weird. There were some breathtaking views of the whole of Florence. We couldn’t take enough photos!
A quick trip to the Bardini Gardens for more ...
