... the lunch hour began. The builders came in in hordes. Seated, supplied with bread and wine followed by pasta and then time to get back to work. We moved on and later found a great pizza place. Pizzas are good here (unlike Rome). We then followed Fabio's advice and caught the ferry into Como. Today, we moved on to Milan, the final overnight city in Italy on our tour, apart of course for the day trip to Caravaggio and Cremona. The day started well with an excellent breakfast in Parma, a short taxi to the train station, and then 90 minutes or so to Milan. And then the problems started...

First of all Milan railway station is simply huge. They even produce a map to help visitors find their way round, and you do ...

... be as charming as it was. We got to wander around Brera Academy of Fine Arts where Franci went to university - funny looking at the different to Canberra School of Art! The only downside is that it was a humid 38C so by the time we headed to the airport we were pretty exhausted! Again I'll leave most of it to the photos - being lazy with my writing today.

What I will say though, is tThe picture of Italy I've been writing about has been a rosy one and ...
